Quality Travel System - Small Issues

Safety 1st are producing some great quality travel systems and strollers. This travel system is solidly constructed and I feel really good that my baby is protected excellently when traveling in it.THE GOOD========The quality of manufacture is excellent, it's built to last and I LOVE the "airbag" technology they are using.The stroller is easy to steer and the handle height seems fine for both myself and my wife even though there is a good 7 inch difference in height.The stroller folds up into a size that fits into either of our cars easily.The fabrics are nice and holding up well, this looks like a quality product compared to a lot of the travel systems we looked at which looked cheap and nasty in comparison.The car seat unit is adjustable to allow for use for babies up to 35lbs, so it should last quite a while before needing a bigger one.Extra base units for the car seat are now available.THE BAD=======The one handed folding mechanism is not as easy as it sounds, the release mechanism can be stiff and take a couple of attempts to make it work.The shades of the stroller and car seat unit overlap nicely but there is a gap on the sides which, depending on the position of the sun, can lead to light creeping in.. I'm not sure if this is for air circulation but it's an annoyance when it happens.The car seat part and base are BIG. If you have a smaller car you will definitely want to check that this will fit. Also I traveled on a United Airlines flight and this seat would not fit in the seat, despite being FAA approved.The handle locking mechanism can be difficult to engage/lock/unlock.. it works, it just takes some effort sometimes which can be annoying.Overall I'm very happy with this travel system. It looks great, it's very well built and I feel good that it provides excellent safety for my baby. With a couple of improvements to the locking mechanisms this would be perfect.. hopefully these changes will be need in the next generation of Safety 1st products.

Great system for child over 22 lbs

I bought this when my one year old daughter outgrew her infant travel system. This was one of the very few travel systems for children over 22 lbs. I travel a lot - half the time just me and my daughter - so I wanted a car seat stroller set I could use in the airports and at our destinations. With this product, I don't have to carry a car seat and diaper bag and push a stroller in the airport and I am never without a car seat or stroller at our destination. It is very convenient. The system is a bit pricey, but I have already used it for a 10 day trip to Istanbul, Turkey and a lengthy car ride and I am very glad with my purchase; I should be able to use it until she is close to two years old. The car seat is quite deep so my daughter has plenty of leg room - I am leaving her car seat rear-facing for awhile longer - my doctor says it is safer.On the down side: the stroller does not fold very compactly and therefore takes up a lot of room in the car. Also, the back rest of the stroller does not really come up straight - it is always somewhat reclined - not a problem for my daughter as she just pulls herself up on the snack tray - but younger babies might have more trouble sitting up straight.Overall, I am very satisfied.

It was easy to assemble. I though I would have to put the whole thing together, but all we had to do was put the wheels and drink tray on the stroller. The one handed macanisim to open and close the stroller didnt stick, the diaper bag part doesnt sag to the ground. ( like all the reviews ive read) The car is a little big while in the car, but what car seat isn't? Love the design & my hubby loves it, also. He made a comment of how cheap most travel systems looks and you pay about the same price. My daughter (4 days )old loves it and she looks so comfortable. The material is thick and comfortable when you press down you can't feel plastic like most car seats that have a thin cover on it...
